This paper studies the dynamical behavior of classical SIR epidemic model for a spatially distributed population in which patches are connected arbitrarily. The work explores the influence of the spatial topology on the total number of infected individuals in the network. For two topologies of the networks, the method used here determines the topology that can lead to less infected individuals. Through the basic reproduction number, the optimal topologies for populations with reduced mobility and higher mobility are studied. Numerical discussions are provided on a small network with 5 agents.
