Multiplication formulas for Kubert functions (Q2258916): Difference between revisions

The authors prove a reduction theorem to the Spanneintegral of products of (generalized) Kubert functions. They unify the results of Carlitz's paper [\textit{L. Carlitz}, Publ. Math. 6, 262--268 (1959; Zbl 0097.26402)], as well as Mordell's paper [\textit{L. J. Mordell}, J. Lond. Math. Soc. 33, 371--375 (1958; Zbl 0081.27404)]. In this paper, the authors also apply a generalization of a classical result of \textit{N. Nielsen} [Traité élémentaire des nombres de Bernoulli. Paris: Gauthier-Villars (1923; JFM 50.0170.04 and JFM 49.0099.03)], known as Carlitz's theorem, in order to elaborate on earlier results on the mean values of the product of Dirichlet \(L\)-functions at integer arguments.
