This paper is devoted to the bounds obtained for the \(L^{p}\) norm of the torsion function \(v_{\Omega}\), i.e., the solution of \(-\Delta v=1\), \(v \in H_{0}^{1}(\Omega)\), in terms of the Lebesgue measure of \(\Omega\) and the principal eigenvalue \(\lambda_{1}(\Omega)\) of the Dirichlet Laplacian acting in \(L^{2}(\Omega)\) (\(1 \leq p \leq 2\)). This problem has been studied in the literature (see for example [\textit{L. Brasco}, ESAIM, Control Optim. Calc. Var. 20, No. 2, 315--338 (2014; Zbl 1290.35160); \textit{M. van den Berg} et al., Integral Equations Oper. Theory 86, No. 4, 579--600 (2016; Zbl 1388.49012); \textit{M. van den Berg}, Integral Equations Oper. Theory 88, No. 3, 387--400 (2017; Zbl 1378.58024); \textit{L. E. Payne}, Proc. R. Soc. Edinb., Sect. A 88, 251--265 (1981; Zbl 0481.35022)]), since it arises in many applications. For example, the torsional rigidity of a cross section of a beam appears in the computation of the angular change when a beam of a given length and a given modulus of rigidity is exposed to a twisting moment. \par This article concerns an interesting subject (torsion function). The authors obtain original results and the article is clearly written.
