If \((X,\rho)\) is a metric space then a proper ideal \({\mathcal B}\) of subsets of \(X\) is said to be a bornology on \(X\). The weakest bornology on \(X\) is the family Fin of finite subsets of \(X\). \textit{A. Caserta} et al. [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 371, No. 1, 384--392 (2010; Zbl 1202.54004)] have introduced the notion of a strong \({\mathcal B}\)-cover \({\mathcal U}\): for every \(B\in{\mathcal B}\) there exists a \(U\in{\mathcal U}\) and \(\delta>0\) such that \(B^{\delta}\subseteq U\), where \(B^{\delta}=\{x\in X:(\exists y\in B)\,\rho(x,y)<\delta\}\). They investigated also the space of continuous real functions \(C(X)\) with the topology of strong uniform continuity on a bornology. The notion of a strong \({\mathcal B}\)-cover is a generalization of the notion of an \(\omega\)-cover. Indeed, an open strong Fin-cover is exactly an open \(\omega\)-cover. Similarly, a notion of a strong \({\mathcal B}\)-\(\gamma\)-cover is defined. Replacing eventually \(\Omega\) and \(\Gamma\) by strong \({\mathcal B}\)-cover and strong \({\mathcal B}\)-\(\gamma\)-cover, respectively, the authors of the paper under review prove bornological variations of the equivalences \(\mathrm{S}_1(\Gamma,\Gamma)\equiv \mathrm{S}_{\text{fin}}(\Gamma,\Gamma)\), \(\mathrm{S}_1(\Omega,\Gamma)\equiv \mathrm{S}_{\text{fin}}(\Omega,\Gamma)\) and others, presented in [\textit{W. Just} et al., Topology Appl. 73, No. 3, 241--266 (1996; Zbl 0870.03021)]. The next section is devoted to the study of bornological versions of the Hurewicz property similarly as in the non-bornological case in [\textit{M. Scheepers}, ibid. 69, No. 1, 31--62 (1996; Zbl 0848.54018)]. Then again, following that paper the authors show equivalence of some bornological games with the corresponding covering properties. The final section contains results about connections between some properties of \(C(X)\) with the topology of strong uniform continuity on a bornology and the corresponding bornological covering properties or games.
