As we know, in plane geometry, Holditch's theorem states that if a chord of fixed length is allowed to rotate inside a convex closed curve, then the locus of a point on the chord at distance \(p\) from one end and at distance \(q\) from the other is a closed curve whose enclosed area is less than that of the original curve by $\pi pq$. This theorem was published in [\textit{H. Holditch}, ``Geometrical theorem'', Quart. J. 2, 38 (1858)] and since then was investigated in a lot of interesting papers. In this paper, the authors come with some new results on the Holditch theorem. In the first sections of the paper, the authors investigate Holditch surfaces and in Section 4 they prove the classical Holditch theorem using the Holditch surfaces which represent a new result in this theory. Finally, in the last section, the authors present a new and important result. More exactly they succeeded to generalize the classical Holditch theorem, but this time for the space case.
