The paper under review studies the Lie theoretic structures on groups of the form \(G/N\), where \(G\) is a Banach-Lie group and \(N\) is a normal subgroup of \(G\) which is not necessarily a Lie subgroup. The paper studies two classes of normal subgroups. The first class consists of pseudo-discrete normal subgroups of \(G\). For such normal subgroups, the Lie algebra in the sense of \(Q\)-groups associated to \(G/N\) is shown to be isomorphic to the Lie algebra of \(G\), moreover, it is shown that it contains the Lie algebra of \(G/N\) as a subalgebra. The second class contains closed normal subgroups of \(G\) which have the structure of a Banach-Lie group with respect to the relative topology. For such \(G/H\), it is shown that the quotient map \(G\rightarrow G/H\) behaves like a submersion with respect to the pull-back of smooth functions if \(G\) is separable.
