The authors investigate the problem of the jointly continous utility representations for submetrizable \(k_\omega\)-spaces. They obtain a natural generalization of Back's theorem in this setting, working with some ideas from the theory of uniformities. In this way they succeed in improving results contained in an earlier paper (written jointly by the first two authors: see [\textit{A. Caterino} and \textit{R. Ceppitelli}, Topology Appl. 190, 109--118 (2015; Zbl 1322.54019)]). Their results are finally applied to an ordering of distributions of wellbeing and in the theory of finite dimensional state preference models.
