The main result of the article is that for every (2-dimensional) hyperbolic orbifold surface, the maximum injectivity radius is greater than or equal to a universal constant \(\rho_T\), with equality if and only if the orbifold is a sphere with three cone points of orders 2, 3 and 7. A corollary of this result shows that for every hyperbolic surface \(S\), there exists a point \(p\) such that the balls \(\left\{B_{\rho_T}(\varphi(p))\right\}_{\varphi\in\text{Aut}^+(S)}\) are embedded and pairwise disjoint. Moreover, \(\rho_T\) is the biggest possible radius if and only if \(S\) is a Hurwitz surface. Here, \(\text{Aut}^+(S)\) is the group of orientation preserving isometries of \(S\).
