Controlled surgery and \(\mathbb{L}\)-homology (Q2424123): Difference between revisions

The author shows that the obstruction to completing controlled surgery for a degree one normal map \((f,b): M^{n} \rightarrow X^{n}\) with control map \(q: X \rightarrow B\) is an element \(\sigma^{c}(f,b) \in H_{n}(B, {\mathbb L})\). Here \(M^{n}\) and \(X^{n}\) are topological manifolds of dimension \(n \geq 5\) and \(\mathbb L\) is the Wall obstruction spectrum. The author gives explicit geometrical constructions of elements of \(H_{n}(B, {\mathbb L})\).
