Three results are presented: The first studies the asymptotic behavior of the coefficients of the orthogonal polynomials with respect to a certain weight. From these the authors deduce the asymptotic values of the elements of the inverse of the Toeplitz matrix with respect to the above-mentioned weight. They then extend a result of \textit{A. Böttcher} and \textit{H. Widom} [in: The extended field of operator theory. Containing lectures of the 15th international workshop on operator theory and its applications, IWOTA 2004, Newcastle, Uk, July 12--16, 2004. Basel: Birkhäuser. Operator Theory: Advances and Applications 171, 73--87 (2006; Zbl 1118.47016)] related to the asymptotic value of the minimal eigenvalue of the above Toeplitz matrix.
