    \textit{T.-C. Dinh} and \textit{N. Sibony} [Commun. Pure Appl. Math. 59, 754--768 (2006; Zbl 1137.37023)] defined a subspace \(W^{\ast }\) of \(W^{1,2}\) on a Kähler manifold \((X,\omega )\) consisting of functions \(\varphi\) for which there exists a positive closed current of finite mass \(T_{\varphi }\) such that \[ i\partial\varphi \wedge \overline{\partial }\varphi \leq T_{\varphi }. \] The norm on \(W^{\ast }\) is given by \[ \|\varphi \|^2 _{\ast } =\|\varphi \|^2 _{2}+\inf \{ m(T): T \text{ closed, such that } i\partial\varphi \wedge \overline{\partial }\varphi \leq T \}, \] where \(m(T)=\int _X T\wedge \omega ^{k-1} .\) The author introduces a capacity \(C\) setting for a Borel set \(E\): \[ C(E)=\inf \{ \|\varphi \|^2 _{\ast } : \varphi \leq -1 \text{ a.e. on a neighbourhood of } E, \varphi \leq 0 \;\text{ on } X\}. \] He shows that \(C\) vanishes exactly on pluripolar sets and that \[ C(E)\geq \text{const.cap}_{\omega } (E), \] where \( \text{cap} _{\omega } (E)\) is an analogue of Bedford-Taylor capacity introduced in [\textit{S. Kołodziej}, Indiana Univ. Math. J. 52, 667--686 (2003; Zbl 1039.32050)]. Furthermore, \(C\) is a Choquet capacity. Any function in \(W^{\ast }\) is pointwise defined up to a pluripolar set. Smooth functions are not dense in the norm of \(W^{\ast }\) and the space is not reflexive, which limits the use of functional analysis methods. The capacities are more useful here since they ``see'' the complex structure as the space \(W^{\ast }\) does.
