Standard cellular automata (CA) are ahistoric (memoryless): the transition function depends on the cells neighborhood configuration only at the preceding step. Historic memory can be embedded in CA dynamics. The goal of this paper is to maintain the transition rules unaltered, but making them act on the cells featured by a function of their previous states.
