This paper investigates norm inequalities for maximal operators associated to commutators of Calderón-Zygmund singular integral operators. If \(K\) is a Calderón-Zygmund kernel and \(b\) has bounded mean oscillation on \(\mathbb{R}^{n}\), define \(T_{b}^{\ast}\) by \[ T_{b}^{\ast}f(x)= \sup_{\varepsilon>0}\int_{\{ y:| x-y| \geq\varepsilon\}}(b(x)- b(y)) K(x-y)f(y)\,dy. \] The authors prove weighted norm inequalities of the form \[ \int_{\mathbb{R}^{n}}| T_{b}^{\ast}f(x) |^{p}w(x) \,dx\leq C\| b\| _{\text{BMO}}^{p} \int_{\mathbb{R}^{n}}| f(x)| ^{p} (M_{L(\log L)^{2p+\delta}}w)(x) \,dx \] where \(M_{L(\log L) ^{2p+\delta}}\) is a generalization of the Hardy-Littlewood maximal function. These results are related to inequalities of \textit{C. Perez} [J. Fourier Anal. Appl. 3, No. 6, 743--756 (1997; Zbl 0894.42006)] for the commutator of Calderón-Zygmund operators. In that case, the power on the logarithm is \(p+\delta\).
