The authors consider solvability of the Volterra type integral equations with an additional linear operator \(L\) and a spectral parameter (depending on time) in a Hilbert space. The model equation under consideration is the following \[ Lu(t)-\int_0^t K(t,s)Pu(s)ds-\lambda(t)u(t)=f(t), \] where \(L\), \(P\) are linear bounded operators acting in the Banach space of all continuous functions \(u\colon [0,T]\to H\), \(T>0\), with the sup norm, \(H\) is a Hilbert space, and \(\lambda(t)\), \(f(t)\) are given functions with values in \(\mathbb C\) and \(H\) respectively. In the case , when \(\lambda(t)\) is out of spectrum, that is \(\lambda(t)\notin\sigma [L(t)]\), \(0\leq t\leq 1\), the authors prove the existence and uniqueness of solutions of the integral equation under consideration. As a corollary from this result the existence and uniqueness of solutions of an equation arising in the theory of elasticity is derived. In the opposite case the authors consider the problem of the solvability of the equation \[ L(t)u(t)+\int_0^tK(t,s)u(s)ds-\lambda(t)u(t)=f(t), \] where \(\lambda(0)\in\sigma[L(0)]\), proving the existence and uniqueness of solutions to the equation under consideration. Finally, the authors discuss the significance of the imposed assumptions.
