The author describes a new computational approach to multivariate scattered data interpolation. He obtains continuous dependence of the interpolant of the data which is not the case for many other schemata, such as splines on triangulations. He states the formulae for the central optimal algorithm and discusses also an alternative representation of the interpolant, which will help to design a particularly fast algorithm for its computation. He also discusses about the properties of the purposed interpolant and compares it with several existing methods.
