Determinants and periodic solutions of delay equations (Q2575023): Difference between revisions

The paper deals with the delay difference equation \[ x = ax: x_i = a_{i,i-1} x_{i-1} + ... + a_{i,i-d} x_{i-d}, \tag{1} \] where \(a_{i,j}: V_j \to V_i\) for \(i,j \in \mathbb{Z}/k\mathbb{Z}\) are finite-dimensional vector spaces over a field \(K\) or separable complex Hilbert spaces. \(k\) and \(d\) are fixed positive integers. The authors prove a relation between the determinant of the periodic difference operator \(a\) and the monodromy of the fundamental solution of (1). As application, a class of linear integral equations are considered.
