Es sei \(L\) die Menge der Liouvilleschen Zahlen. Es wird gezeigt: Jede reelle Zahl \(t\) \((\neq 0)\) läßt sich in der Gestalt darstellen \(t=x+y=uv\) (\(x,y,u,v\) aus \(L\)). Der eine Beweis ist mengentheoretisch und beruht auf der Tatsache, daß \(L\) eine dichte Menge vom Typus \(G_\delta\) ist, der andere Beweis ist konstruktiv. Dabei wird \(t\) in der Form \(\sum_{k=1}^\infty {\varepsilon_k \over 2^k}\) bzw. \(\prod_{k=1}^\infty (1+{\varepsilon_k+k})\) \((\varepsilon_k=0,1)\) angesetzt.
