The authors used the Mellin-Barnes integral representation of generalized hypergeometric function \(_pF_q\) to extend the range of parameters. Indeed, by changing the contour of integration, the authors presented many attempts to make meaning of \(_pF_q\) for all finite \(z\neq 0\). That is to say, they have shown that \(_pF_q\) exists for all \(z\neq 0\) when \(p>q+1\) and for \(|z|>1\) if \(p=q+1\). Furthermore, series representations of the extended \(_pF_q\) are obtained. In particular, series representations of \(_2F_1\) and \(_3F_2\) as well as their asymptotic formulas are discussed thoroughly.
