In this paper a method is introduced to find sets of differential equations for functions which define billiard tables, such that the associated billiard system admits a local first integral. The derived method is illustrated in various examples reproducing for example billiards inside a conic section domain, associated to a first integral of degree one in the velocities. The paper is well written and all technical steps are explained in a clear manner. The reference list highlights some related works to this novel study.
