The authors consider transversely harmonic and transversely holomorphic maps between Riemannian manifolds equipped with some foliations. One of the main results is the following Theorem. Theorem: Let \((M, F, g)\) be a complete Riemannian manifold equipped with a Riemannian foliation \(F\) satisfying some geometric bounds, in particular, its transverse Ricci curvature being bounded from below by \(-K_1\le 0\). Let \((N, \tilde F, \tilde g)\) be another Riemannian manifold equipped with a Riemannian foliation \(\tilde F\), its transverse sectional curvature being bounded from above by \(-K_2 < 0\). Then for any transversely harmonic map \(f : M\to N\) with bounded transverse dilatation of order \(\beta\) (defined in the paper), one has \(f^\ast\tilde g|\tilde H\le \beta^2(K_1/K_2)g|H\), where \(H\) and \(\tilde H\) are the orthogonal complements of the tangent bundles of \(F\) and \(\tilde F\). Some particular cases as well as the analogous result for Kähler foliations and transversely holomorphic maps are considered.
