If \((M ,d)\) is a metric space then a subset \(S \subset M\) is \textit{Lipschitz normally embedded} (LNE) if two following metrics on \(S\) are equivalent: \textit{outer} induced by \(d\) and \textit{inner} defined as the infimum of the length of all rectifiable curves in \(S\) connecting two given points of \(S\) (provided it is well-defined in \(S) .\) The results concern the category of algebraic curves in \(\mathbb{C}^{n} .\) The main results are: 1. Let \(X \subset \mathbb{C}^{n}\) be an algebraic curve of degree \(d .\) It is LNE if and only if \(X\) is connected, at each singular point \(x_{0} \in X\) the germ \((X ,x_{0})\) consists of pairwise transverse non-singular branches, and the intersection of the projective closure of \(X\) in \(\mathbb{C}\mathbb{P}^{n}\) with the hyperplane at infinity consists exactly of \(d\) points (the latter means these intersections are also transversal). 2. Let \(X_{1} \subset \mathbb{C}^{n_{1}}\) and \(X_{2} \subset \mathbb{C}^{n_{2}}\) be irreducible LNE complex algebraic curves. Then \(X_{1}\) and \(X_{2}\) are bilipschitz homeomorphic if and only if they are homeomorphic.
