Including eigenvalues of the plane Orr-Sommerfeld problem (Q1321615): Difference between revisions

In an earlier paper [\textit{P. P. Klein}, Z. Angew. Math. Mech. 70, No. 6, 560-562 (1990; Zbl 0716.65078)] a method for eigenvalue inclusion using a Gerschgorin type theory was applied to the plane Orr-Sommerfeld problem in the case of a pure Poiseuille flow. In this paper, the same method will be used to deal with the plane Orr-Sommerfeld problem where the basic flow is a linear combination of Poiseuille and Couette flow.
