In this paper, the authors consider a hyperbolic problem with coefficients depending on different power of the small parameter \(\varepsilon\). The equation has a nonlinear dissipative term. The proof uses the techniques of multiscale convergence including several spatial and temporal scales. A very weak multiscale convergence is performed in order to obtain a limit. The main result of the paper is the determination of the homogenized limit of the nonlinear dissipative term. An example problem is exhibited with six spatial and eight temporal scales.
