Sei m eine quadratfreie natürliche Zahl und \(\Delta\) die Diskriminante des quadratischen Zahlkörpers \({\mathbb{Q}}(\sqrt{m})\). Der Autor gibt einen neuen und völlig elementaren Beweis des Satzes, daß sich unter den diophantischen Gleichungen \(T^ 2-mU^ 2=d\) mit \(1<d| \Delta\), 4\(\nmid d\), genau eine lösbare befindet.
