    \textit{N. Ray} [Topology 10, 261-270 (1971; Zbl 0224.55012)] constructed a sequence of torsion elements of order two \(\phi_ n\in \pi_{8n-3}MSp\), \(n\geq 1\). The author uses the BP-Adams-Novikov spectral sequence to prove that \(\phi^ 2_ 1\phi_ 3\neq 0\) from which it follows that \(\phi_ i\phi_ j\phi_ k\neq 0\) if either 3\(\leq i\leq j\leq k\) or \(i\leq j<k\) with (1,1,3)\(\leq(i,j,k)\) in the lexicographical order. This result was proved originally by \textit{D. Segal} [Comment. Math. Helv. 45, 159-169 (1970; Zbl 0199.268)] using the classical Adams spectral sequence and has also been proved by \textit{K. Morisugi} [J. Math. Kyoto Univ. 23, 239-263 (1983; Zbl 0529.55005)] using the Atiyah-Hirzebruch spectral sequence. By the reviewer's Theorem 11.4 (c) [Mem. Am. Math. Soc. 271 (1981; Zbl 0507.57021)] it is known that all the \(\phi_ 1\phi^ 2_ n\) and \(\phi_ 2\phi^ 2_ n\) are zero. The results of the author's computation of \(\pi_ nMSp\), 0\(\leq n\leq 30\), are essentially contained in D. Segal [loc. cit.].
