Besides the classical methods due to \textit{A. Andreotti} and \textit{F. Norguet} [Ann. Sc. Norm. Sup. Pisa 21, 31-82 (1967; Zbl 0176.04001)] and \textit{D. Barlet} [Bull. Soc. Math. Fr. 106, 373-397 (1978; Zbl 0395.32009)] to get holomorphic functions on the cycle space \({\mathcal C}_q(X)\), the authors propose a more geometric method which consists in intersecting \(q\)-cycles by an analytic subset \(Y\) of codimension \(q\) on which there are plenty of holomorphic functions (e.g., when \(Y\) is Stein). The trace of such function computed on the (finite) intersection of the \(q\)-cycle \(\gamma\) with \(Y\) will give the value at \(\gamma\) of the desired holomorphic function.
