Let \(\pi\) be an affine plane of even order \(n\). If the projective extension of \(\pi\) contains an oval \(\Omega\) which intersects the line of infinity in a single point then \(\Omega\) is called a parabolic oval. Furthermore, if there exists a collineation group \(G_\Omega\) leaving \(\Omega\) invariant and acting 2-transitively on the affine points of \(\Omega\) then \(\Omega\) is called a 2-transitive parabolic oval. The main results of the paper are: \(\pi\) is Desarguesian if \(\pi\) possesses a 2-transitive parabolic oval and if one of the following four conditions holds: 1. \(\pi\) is a generalized twisted field plane. 2. \(\pi\) is a translation plane of order \(n\neq 2^6\) with abelian group \(G_{\Omega,0}\). 3. \(\pi\) is a generalized André plane. 4. \(\pi\) has order \(n\neq 2^6\) and possesses another 2-transitive parabolic oval \(\Omega'\neq \Omega\) so that \(\Omega\) and \(\Omega'\) share at least two affine points. Remark: The odd order case of the above result has already been treated by \textit{M. R. Enea} and \textit{G. Korchmaros} [Arch. Math. 69, 259-264 (1997; Zbl 0902.51005)].
