The paper is devoted to a difference method of an arbitrary order of accuracy for convection-diffusion equations. The method relies on linear combinations of upwind compact approximation operators, which are called multioperators. The conditions under which the multioperators have definite signs are examined, and their dissipative and dispersive properties are analyzed. Some numerical examples are given.
