Vectorial nonlinear potential theory (Q1746199): Difference between revisions

In this important paper, the authors establish sharp pointwise potential estimates for vectorial solutions to the non-homogeneous \(p\)-Laplacean system \[ - \operatorname{div}(|Du|^{p-2}Du) = \mu \] where \(\mu\) is an \({\mathbb R}^N\)-valued Borel measure with finite total mass. To get this result, the authors introduce new, basic techniques in nonlinear potential theory. Their main achievment consists in proving, via Riesz and Wolff potentials, that for solutions \(u\in W^{1, p-1}\) with a suitable decay at infinity, the exact analog of the ones in classical linear potential theory holds. In this way they get sharp estimates for the solution and its derivatives.
