This interesting paper is a direct continuation of the work of \textit{H.-H. Wu}, The equidistribution theory of holomorphic curves. Princeton, N.J.: Princeton University Press (1970; Zbl 0199.40901). The author derives the modified form of the Second Main Theorem for holomorphic curves \(x: V\rightarrow P_n\), where \(V\) is an open Riemann surface admitting a harmonic exhaustion and \(P_n\) is the \(n\)-dimensional complex projective space. This new form of the Second Main Theorem yields a new form of a defect relation.
