Let \(F\) be a commutative field of characteristic 0. In \(A:=(F\setminus\{0\})\times F\) we define a binary operation \(\cdot: A\times A\to A\) by \((a,b)\cdot(c,d)=(ac,ad+cb)\) for \((a,b),(c,d)\in A\). With this operation \((A,\cdot)\) is a group, the Clifford group of \(F\). The author describes the subgroups of \((A,\cdot)\). Especially, he shows the following result. If \(D\) is a subgroup of \((A,\cdot)\) then there is a sequence \(\{D_ n\}_{n\in\mathbb{N}}\) of subgroups of \((A,\cdot)\) such that \(D_ n\subset D_{n+1}\) and \(D=\bigcup_{n\in\mathbb{N}}D_ n\).
