It is shown that for a large class of potentials on the line with superquadratic growth at infinity and with additional time-periodic dependence all possible motions under the influence of such potentials are bounded for all time and that most motions are in fact quasiperiodic. The class of the potentials includes the exponential, polynomial, and much more. This extends earlier results by \textit{J. E. Littlewood} [J. Lond. Math. Soc. 41, 497--507 (1966; Zbl 0144.10602)] to the system of the form \(\ddot x+V_x(x,t)=0\), under appropriate growth assumptions on \(V\) for large \(x\).
