Recursive subdivision plays an important role in the representation of free-form surfaces. The idea of this technique is simple. Beginning with a polyhedral network to describe a surface, the corners and edges of the polyhedral network are knocked off to generate a new polyhedron that is smoother in some sense. A previous paper of the author [Comput. Aided Geom. Des. 8, No. 1, 89-96 (1991; Zbl 0715.65011)] is addressed to the problem of boundary control in recursive subdivision surfaces with some restriction on the boundary skirt. The present paper aims to release the restriction to allow more freedom on the boundary curves. This is useful for instance in the design of blending surfaces that connect two given surfaces along two arbitrary curves.
