Semilinear dynamical systems with linear and nonlinear parts both containing multiple point delays are considered. It is generally assumed that the linear part of the dynamical system is stable. Next, using the Laplace transformation sufficient conditions for absolute stability of the semilinear dynamical system are formulated and proved. In the proofs of the main results the properties of the positive Green function of the linear part are also used. A simple numerical example which illustrates the theoretical considerations is also presented. Moreover, several remarks and comments on stability problems for retarded dynamical systems are given. Similar stability problems can be found in the monograph [\textit{M. I. Gil'}, ``Stability of finite- and infinite-dimensional systems'', Kluwer Academic Publishers, Boston (1998; Zbl 0916.93002)]. Finally, relations to the so-called Aizerman stability problem are pointed out and discussed.
