A \(p\)-subgroup of a group \(G\) is called \(p\)-radical if it is the largest normal \(p\)-subgroup of its normalizer. These subgroups are the important ones for calculating the \(\text{mod }p\) cohomology, and as a starting point for verifying Dade's conjectures. As usual, the case \(p=2\) is the hardest case to classify in practice. The present paper uses the lists of maximal 2-local subgroups of the three groups in the title, to classify the conjugacy classes of 2-radical subgroups in each case. The other primes, and the remaining sporadic groups (except the Monster and Baby Monster) are dealt with in forthcoming papers by the same author.
