The authors study the third-order nonlinear differential equations \[ y'''+p(t)y'+q(t)y^\gamma =0,\tag{1} \] \[ y'''+p(t)y'+q(t)f(y) =0,\tag{2} \] where \(p,q\) are continuous functions defined on \([t_0,\infty)\), \(f(u)\) is a continuous function defined on \(\mathbb{R}\) such that \(f(u)/u\geq \beta >0\) for \(u\neq 0\) and \(\gamma\) is a quotient of odd integers. Two sign cases are considered: i) \(p(t)\leq 0\), \( q(t)>0\) and ii) \(p(t)\geq 0\), \( q(t)\geq 0\) for \(t\geq t_0\). There are given sufficient conditions ensuring that every solution to (1) or (2) which has a zero is oscillatory. Results extend some known results in the literature.
