Given a holomorphic action \(( \varphi : C^{\ast } \times X \rightarrow X)\) of \(( C^{\ast })\) on a compact complex manifold, one wishes to know whether \(\varphi \) is actually meromorphic. This paper addresses the question of whether, or under what conditions, meromorphicity is preserved by equivariant deformations. Some affirmative results are given, while the main result of the paper is that for a general compact complex manifold, meromorphicity is not preserved. The author uses twistor spaces to construct interesting examples of Moishezon manifolds with meromorphic \(( C^{\ast })\) actions that are not preserved by equivariant deformations.
