In many respects this is a continuation of the paper [Nielsen root theory and Hopf degree theory, Pac. J. Math. 198, No. 1, 49-80 (2001; Zbl 1049.55001)] by \textit{R. Brown} and \textit{H. Schirmer}. The paper under review considers properties of notions from the title and keywords for composition and Cartesian products of maps. From many interesting results we quote only Theorem (3.5) that reflects others rather well: Suppose \(f:(X,\partial X)\to (Y,\partial Y)\) and \(g:(Y,\partial Y)\to (Z,\partial Z)\) are proper, orientable maps of \(n\)-manifolds. Then the absolute degree has the multiplicative property for compositions: \(A(g\circ f)=A(f)A(g)\).
