A subset \(A\) of a topological space \((X,\tau)\) is said to be preopen if \(A\subset Int(Cl(A))\). \(A\) is preclosed if its complement is preopen. The preclosure of A, denoted \(pCl(A)\), is the intersection of all preclosed sets containing \(A\). A function \(f:(X,\tau)\rightarrow (X,\sigma)\) is called precontinuous see [\textit{A. S. Mashhour, M. E. Abd El-Monsef} and \textit{S. N. El-Deep}, Proc. Math. Phys. Soc. Egypt 53, 47-53 (1982; Zbl 0571.54011)] if for each \(x\in X\) and each open set \(V\) of \(Y\) containing \(f(x)\) there exists a preopen set \(U\) containing \(x\) such that \(f(U)\subset V\). A function \(f:(X,\tau)\rightarrow (Y,\sigma)\) is said to be strongly \(\theta\)-continuous [\textit{T. Noiri}, J. Korean Math. Soc. 16, 161-166 (1980; Zbl 0435.54010)] (resp. strongly \(\theta\)-precontinuous) if for each \(x\in X\) and each open set \(V\) of \(Y\) containing \(f(x)\) there exists an open set (resp. preopen set) \(U\) containing \(x\) such that \(f(Cl(U))\subset V\) (resp. \(f(pCl(U))\subset V\)). Strong \(\theta\)-precontinuity is stronger than precontinuity and weaker than strong \(\theta\)-continuity. In Section 3 of this paper some characterizations are proved. In Section 4 some properties of strongly \(\theta\)-precontinuous functions are investigated. In Sections 5 and 6 the relations between strongly \(\theta\)-precontinuous functions, some separation axioms and some preservation properties are studied.
