The paper is an extension to a recent work of \textit{E. M. E. Zayed} and the author [Acta Math. Sci., Ser. B, Engl. Ed. 21, 171-181 (2001; Zbl 0993.35087)]. The author considers an inverse problem for determining some geometrical quantities of a general bounded domain in \({\mathbb R}^3\), e.g. the volume of \(\Omega\), the surface area, the mean curvature, and the Gaussian curvature of the boundary \(\partial \Omega\) etc., from the complete knowledge of the eigenvalues of the negative Laplacian on the domain. The author solves the above inverse problem using the asymptotic estimates of the spectral function \(\hat{\mu}(t)\equiv \sum_{l=1}^{\infty} \exp (-it E_l^{1/2})\), as \(|t|\rightarrow 0\), where \(E_l\) \((1\leq l<\infty)\) are the eigenvalues of the negative Laplacian \(-\Delta \equiv -\sum_{l=1}^3 \partial ^2/\partial x_{l}^2 \), with Dirichlet, Neumann, or Robin boundary conditions. Moreover, the asymptotic estimates were obtained by the author and E. Zayed in the other paper.
