The authors study implicit ordinary differential equations of quasi-linear form admitting an involution generalising the classical notion of reversibility. More precisely, they are concerned with the persistence of orbits connecting singularities under small periodic perturbations. The main results prove such persistence under a number of technical assumptions. It is e.g. assumed that a non-critical, hyperbolic situation is given where the smallest positive and the largest negative eigenvalue of the Jacobian are both simple and that a homoclinic orbit exists. Besides the persistence, the authors prove the existence of what they call shadowed periodic orbits. The proof is based on the Melnikov method. At the end a concrete example is studied.
