The main purpose of this paper is to prove that the Chow ring of the symmetric space \(\mathrm{GL}(2n,\mathbb C)/\mathrm{SO}(2n,\mathbb C)\) is isomorphic to \(\mathbb{Z}\oplus\mathbb{Z}y\), where \(y\) is a cycle of codimension \(n\). The author proves this by showing that there exists a decomposition of \(\mathrm{GL}(2n,\mathbb C)/\mathrm{SO}(2n,\mathbb C)\) into \(2n\) disjoint subvarieties \(X_i, 1\leq i\leq 2n\), and by constructing for any \(i\) with \(i<2n\) a map \(f_i:X_i\rightarrow \mathrm{GL}(2n-2)/\mathrm{SO}(2n-2)\), which is a trivial fibration with fibers isomorphic to \(\mathbb{C}^*\times\mathbb{C}^{2n+i-2}\).
