This paper deals with properties of generalized Schlömilch series and Schlömilch ``polynomials'', which are functions of the form \[ S_n(x)= {a_0\over 2}+ \sum^n_{m=1} a_m J_p(mx), \] where \(J_p(x)= (2/x)^p\Gamma(p+ 1)J_p(x)\) and \(J_p\) are the Bessel functions of the first kind. Defining the \(B\)-derivative by means of the differential operator for the functions \(J_p\), the authors prove interpolation formulas and Bernstein inequalities for Schlömilch polynomials. Moreover, these definitions and results are transferred to Marchaud and Weyl fractional derivatives.
