The main purpose of this paper is the proof of the following result: Let \(G\in \mathrm{GL}(n,\mathbb C)\) be the image of a linear representation of a Kähler group \({\pi}_1(X)\), then there exists a smooth complex projective manifold \(X'\) and a subgroup of finite index in \(G\) which is the image of a linear representation of \({\pi}_1(X)\). The proof is obtained by assuming that \(X\) has a holomorphic submersion, whose fibres are tori, over a smooth complex projective manifold. The result gives a partial answer to a classical problem concerning the equivalence between Kähler and projective groups.
