The purpose of this paper is to study the two-dimensional defocusing NLS equation \[ \begin{aligned} iu_t+\Delta u & =F(u)=| u|^2 u \\ u(0,x) &=u_0.\end{aligned} \] The main theorem is a statement about the almost periodic solutions of (1). Several similar theorems from the literature are also given in connection with the proofs. The proofs consist of several steps and use Strichart estimates, Littlewood-Payley theory, Duhamels principle, Sobolev embedding theorem, Plancherel theorem, conservation of mass, Hölder's lemma, fundamental theorem of calculus, Hölder, Cauchy-Schwartz, Young, Bernstein, Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev inequalities, Strichart estimates, Arzela-Ascoli theorem, Fourier transform, Radon transform and integration by parts.
