The paper under review is a survey article dealing with some recent results concerning the distribution of zeros of analytic functions of the form \(L^ nf\), where f is an analytic function and where \(L^ n\) denotes the nth iterate of a certain linear operator. The author is motivated, in part, by the classical survey paper of \textit{G. Pólya} [Bull. Am. Math. Soc. 49, 178-191 (1943; Zbl 0061.115)] and by the more recent survey due to \textit{R. P. Boas jun.} [Am. Math. Monthly 78, 1085- 1093 (1971; Zbl 0224.26011)]. In this excellent account, the author states many results provided the reader with the flavor of the current research in this area of mathematics. Another valuable feature of this survey is its extensive list of references. The paper concludes with five open problems.
