This paper is devoted to the study of coupled systems of nonlinear operator equations of the form (1) \(Lx=Nx\), \(\Gamma x=Fx\) where X is a Banach space; L:D(L)\(\subset X\to X\) is linear; \(\Gamma:X\to {\mathbb{R}}^ n\) is bounded and linear; N and F are continuously Fréchet differentiable; N:\(X\to X\) and \(F:X\to {\mathbb{R}}^ n\). It is proved that the system (1) can be reduced to an equivalent finite dimensional problem provided that certain conditions are satisfied. This finite dimensional alternative problem is used to provide sufficient conditions for the existence of an exact solution to system (1) based on the existence of an approximate solution. The procedure described above is utilized to study boundary value problems of the form \(\dot x=f(t,x)\), \(g(x)=0\).
