The basic equation of the particle transport theory is analysed for the case \(c>1\), which can arise in neutron transport problems. The dispersion function is studied for a three term distribution case. It is found that there can be one or two pairs of unbounded eigenvalues and no eigenvalues off the real and imaginery axes. The corresponding elementary solutions are also reported. In the past such solutions have not been generally considered possible.
