In this paper, the pulse wave propagation and shock formation in a thin walled semi-infinite nonlinear elastic or viscoelastic tube filled with an incompressible, inviscid fluid have been investigated. A simple exact solution exhibiting distortionless propagation is presented for a Moony- Rivlin material.
