This interesting paper is devoted to a study of paracompactness in the setting of nearness spaces. In the first part a generalization of the classical paracompactness theorem of Michael is obtained. In the second part of this paper the author establishes a Tamano-Dowker theorem for nearness spaces. (Recall that \textit{Tamano} proved that a space X is paracompact if and only if for every compactification Y of X, the product \(X\times Y\) is normal. The famous result of \textit{Dowker} says that a space X is countably paracompact and normal if and only if the product \(X\times [0,1]\) is normal).
